Studies in The Book of Proverbs – Part 9
Benefits of Wisdom – Proverbs 2:10-19
“When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul; 11 Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee: 12 To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh froward things; 13 Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness; 14 Who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the frowardness of the wicked; 15 Whose ways are crooked, and they froward in their paths: 16 To deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the stranger which flattereth with her words; 17 Which forsaketh the guide of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her God. 18 For her house inclineth unto death, and her paths unto the dead. 19 None that go unto her return again, neither take they hold of the paths of life.”
Introduction:
According to Proverbs 9:12, anyone who is wise, it is for his own benefit; and whoever scorns wisdom, it is to his own peril. As the saying goes, example is the best teacher; but it is better to learn from the repercussions of other people’s examples than to be the scapegoat from whom others learn. Of course, a dog that will be lost will never listen to the hunter’s whistle!

FILL MY CUP, LORD,
1
Like The Woman At The Well I Was Seeking
For Things That Could Not Satisfy;
And Then I Heard My Saviour Speaking:
‘Draw From My Well That Never Shall Run Dry.’
Fill My Cup, Lord, I Lift It Up, Lord!
Come And Quench This Thirsting Of My Soul;
Bread Of Heaven, Feed Me Till I Want No More;
Fill My Cup, Fill It Up And Make Me Whole!

There Are Millions In This World Who Are Craving
The Pleasure Earthly Things Afford;
But None Can Match The Wondrous Treasure
That I Find In Jesus Christ My Lord.

So, My Brother, If The Things This World Gave You
Leave Hungers That Won’t Pass Away,
My Blessed Lord Will Come And Save You,
If You Kneel To Him And Humbly Pray:
