REVELATION KNOWLEDGE – Part 1
Genesis 37.13-17
And Israel said unto Joseph, Do not thy brethren feed the flock in Shechem? come, and I will send thee unto them. And he said to him, Here am I. And he said to him, Go, I pray thee, see whether it be well with thy brethren, and well with the flocks; and bring me word again. So he sent him out of the vale of Hebron, and he came to Shechem. And a certain man found him, and, behold, he was wandering in the field: and the man asked him, saying, What seekest thou? And he said, I seek my brethren: tell me, I pray thee, where they feed their flocks. And the man said, They are departed hence; for I heard them say, Let us go to Dothan. And Joseph went after his brethren, and found them in Dothan.
And Jacob sent and called Rachel and Leah to the field unto his flock, and said unto them, I see your father’s countenance, that it is not toward me as before; but the God of my father hath been with me. And ye know that with all my power I have served your father. And your father hath deceived me, and changed my wages ten times; but God suffered him not to hurt me. If he said thus, The speckled shall be thy wages; then all the cattle bare speckled: and if he said thus, The ringstraked shall be thy hire; then bare all the cattle ringstraked. Thus God hath taken away the cattle of your father, and given them to me. And it came to pass at the time that the cattle conceived, that I lifted up mine eyes, and saw in a dream, and, behold, the rams which leaped upon the cattle were ringstraked, speckled, and grisled. And the angel of God spake unto me in a dream, saying, Jacob: And I said, Here am I. And he said, Lift up now thine eyes, and see, all the rams which leap upon the cattle are ringstraked, speckled, and grisled: for I have seen all that Laban doeth unto thee.
Genesis 31:4-12
Sources of Afflictions – WHY
1. Have you ever wondered why most people on earth on daily and nightly basis move forth and back.
2. Everyone wakes up, goes out, do some things outside, comes back to where he took off, and sleeps again only to repeat what he did yesterday until he leaves the earth
3. Those in the West move to the East. The ones in the East move to the West. Everyone is always out seeking and looking for something
4. The most surprising thing is that What those who moved from the East left is what those who moved from the West came looking for and eventually found and vice versa.
5. For example some Nigerians go to the USA seeking and looking for greener pastures which they eventually see. Same way some white people leave the USA, come to Nigeria to seek and look for greener pastures which they also find and see. Why didn’t the Nigerians and Americans each stay where they are and see, find, and discover the greener pastures where each resides respectively.
6. Why didn’t people going out from the East find what those coming from the West found so they wouldn’t have to waste their time, resources and energy along the way
…. Joseph wandered in the field until a Certain Man saw him and showed him the way
…. David wandered in the wilderness wrestling with lions and bears until Samuel called for him to be anoited as king
…. Israel wandered in the wilderness for 40 years until all the generations that left Egypt died
…. Saul wandered looking for lost sheep until he SAW THE SEER who made him a man to be SOUGHT AFTER
…. Jacob wandered for 20 years in seeking for his wife.
…. Isaac never had to wander in the process of getting his wife. It was where he was that his wife came seeking foe him
…. Again When all others wandered to Egypt Isaac was told never to wander there but was to sow in the land. He did and got a hundred fold returns.
…. Noah never had to wander seeking for a pair each every kind of unclean animals and Seven pairs each of every kind of clean animals. It was where Noah was that each of them came of their own accord unto Noah and into the ark.
7. Man wanders looking for REST, SATISFACTION, LIFE, LIVELINESS, JOY AND HAPPINESS.
8. Not only does man wander physically, man also wanders and keeps wandering mentally, psychologically, maritally,
financially, secularly, educationally, spiritually
9. In the process of wandering many have got injured, beaten, fallen, crippled, faged out, tired, deceived, cheated, maimed, abused, maligned, half-dead-half-alive
10. In the process of wandering everything everyone does is a means to achieving these ends.
There’s no rest for any man until he sees what he’s looking for.
11. While everyone wanders, some get frustrated, for not seeing what they are looking for and thus cave in to the forces of nature
12. Some others forcefully take over what belongs to others in an attempt to getting what they are looking for
13. Only a few people, after wandering for a long time see what they are looking for. Majority of people die without seeing what they are looking for.
HOW
14. Of course some fortunate ones see what they are looking for early in their life. Such a man was the man Job.
15. At a young age Job saw and had Everything he was looking and anybody could be looking for. He had
. Seven sons
. Three daughters
. Seven thousand sheep,
. Three thousand camels,
. Five hundred yoke of oxen,
. Five hundred she asses,
. A very great household
. The greatest of all the men of the east. Job 1:2-3
16. The secret of Job according to Satan is that:
. God made an hedge about him
. God made an hedge about his house
. God made an hedge about all that he hath on every side?
. God blessed the work of his hands,
. God made his substance to increase in the land. Job 1:10
17. And according to Job himself, the secret of seeing what he was looking for early in life was:
. God’s Preservation
. The candle of God shined upon his head
. By God’s light Job walked through darkness
. The secret of God was on his tabernacle
. God Almighty was yet with him
. His children were about him
Job 29:2-5
18. Joseph saw a Certain Man, his wandering in the wilderness was over.
19. Job saw the Secret of God. He never had to wander in the wilderness of life
20. Jacob lifted up his eyes and saw in a dream, “the rams which leaped upon the cattle were ringstraked, speckled, and grisled.”
Conclusion:
. What are you looking for?
. Why are you always “late to bed and early to rise”
. It can be too expensive to live a life without SEEING what you’re looking for early in life
. Life is short.
. Inability to see can be detrimental to life
. Time is moving fast
. Time is nobody’s friend.
. A shortcut to what you’re looking for: Rest, Satisfaction and abundance of Life is to allow the Certain Man see you in the wilderness of your life.
