A5.5 – UNITY OF WORKS OF ALL MEMBERS OF THE TRINITY

  1. Creation of the world

a) God the Father was involved in the creation of the world, Acts 17:24 “God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands”

b) God the Son was involved in the creation of the world, John 1:3 “All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.”

c) God the Holy Spirit was involved in the creation of the world, Job 26:13 “By his spirit he hath garnished the heavens; his hand hath formed the crooked serpent.”

 

  1. Creation of man

a) God the Father was involved in the creation of man, Mal 2:10 “Have we not all one father? hath not one God created us? why do we deal treacherously every man against his brother, by profaning the covenant of our fathers?”

b) God the Son was involved in the creation of man, Col 1:16 “For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:”

c) God the Holy Spirit was involved in the creation of man, Job 33:4 “The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life.”

 

  1. Incarnation of Christ

a) God the Father was involved in the incarnation of Christ, John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

b) God the Son was involved in the incarnation of Christ, Phil 2:7 “But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:”

c) God the Holy Spirit was involved in the incarnation of Christ, Lk 1:35 “And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.”

 

  1. Redemption of man

a) God the Father is involved in the redemption of man, John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

b) God the Son is involved in the redemption of man, John 19:30 “When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.”

c) God the Holy Spirit is involved in the redemption of man, Heb 9:14 “How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?”

 

  1. Justification of believers

a) God the Father is involved in the justification of believers, Rom 8:33 “Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth.”

b) God the Son is involved in the justification of man, Rom 5:9 “Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through ”

c) God the Holy Spirit is involved in the justification of man, 1 Cor 6:11  “And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.”

 

  1. Sanctification of believers

a) God the Father is involved in the sanctification of believers, Jude 1:1 “Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called:”

b) God the Son is involved in the sanctification of believers, 1 Cor 1:30 “But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:”

c) God the Holy Spirit is involved in the sanctification of believers, 1 Pet 1:2 “Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied”

 

  1. Preservation of the believer

a) God the Father is involved in the preservation of believers, 1 Pet 1:5 “Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.”

b) God the Son is involved in the preservation of believers, John 10:28 “And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.”

c) God the Holy Spirit is involved in the preservation of believers, Eph 4:30 “And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.”

 

  1. Communion of believers

a) God the Father is involved in the communion of the believers, Eph 2:18 “For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.”

b) God the Son is involved in the communion of the believers, Eph 2:18 “For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.”

c) God the Holy Spirit is involved in the communion of the believers, Eph 2:18 “For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.”

 

  1. Prayer of believers

a) God the Father is involved in answering the prayers of believers, John 16:23 “And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.”

b) God the Son is involved in answering the prayers of believers, John 16:23 “And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.”

c) God the Holy Spirit is involved in answering the prayers of believers, Rom 8:26 “Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.”

 

  1. Resurrection of believers

a) God the Father will be involved in the resurrection of believers, 2 Cor 1:9 “But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead:”

b) God the Son will be involved in the resurrection of believers, 1 Cor 15:22 “For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.”

c) God the Holy Spirit will be involved in the resurrection of believers, Rom 8:11 “But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.”
