Sin is from Satan. Through the Serpent, Satan enticed the woman, Eve, to disobey God, Gen 3:1-6
Definition of sin: Sin is the non-conformity with the laws of God, the transgression of the divine order and anything that is contrary to the holy character of God, 1 John 3:4
Types of Sins: The Bible teaches that sin is sin. A transgressor in one sin is a transgressor in all sins, Jam 2:10. But sin can be categorized as follows:
a) Sins of ignorance, Rom 2:12
b) Sins of infirmities, Romans 15:1
c) Sins of carelessness, 1 Cor. 8:9
d) Sins of presumption, Rom 1:32
e) Unpardonable sins, Matt 12:31-32
f) Sins unto death, 1 John 5:16
The Nature of Sin
a) Sin is poisonous like a viper, Ps 140:3
b) Sin is stubborn like a mule, Job 11:12
c) Sin is cruel like a bear, Dan 7:5
d) Sin is destructive like cankerworm, Joel 2:25
e) Sin is unclean like a wild dog, 26:11
f) Sin is cunning like a fox, Luke 13:32
g) Sin is fierce like a wolf, John 10:12
h) Sin devours like a lion, Ps 22:13
i) Sin is filthy like a swine, 2 Pet 2:22
The Consequences of sin: As a result of the sin of Adam and Eve, the whole human race became sinners by nature, Rom 5:12

b) Sin diverts man’s feet, Isa 53:6
c) Sin darkens man’s eyes, Eph 4:18
d) Sin defiles man’s tongues, Rom 3:13-14
e) Sin deceives man’s heart, 17:9
f) Sin devours man’s intellect, 1 Cor. 2:14
g) Sin dooms man’s soul, Ezek 18:4
h) Sin leads to loss of life, 1 Cor. 11:30
i) Sin leads to loss of health, 2 Cor. 5:17
j) Sin leads to loss of light, 1 John 1:6
k) Sin leads to loss of joy, Ps 51:12
l) Sin leads to loss of peace, 1 John 3:4-10
m) Sin leads to loss of fellowship with God, 1 John 1:3

o) Sin renders the human race depraved, capable of doing wicked things, 1 Cor. 2:14
