irvana: Hindu religion states that at death, man ceases to exist just as a wave ripple goes out of existence when the wind stops blowing on the sea. But man’s absence from this earth (by death) does not mean a termination of his personality or of his person (soul). In Matt 17:3, Moses and Elijah who had died several hundreds of years earlier appeared on the Mount of Transfiguration, Matt 17:3
Second Chance: This is a belief that in a future life all men will be given a second chance to make amends for their wrong doings. This is not correct, Luk 16:19-31
The Atheists believe that at death, man gradually decays and ceases to be. This is not correct, 1 Cor. 15:50-57
The Jehovah Witnesses believe that all ungodly men will be annihilated someday. This is not correct, Matt 25:46
Soul-Sleep: Some people believe that the souls of all who die go to sleep as soon as they die until the resurrection day, Rev 6:9-12
Purgatory: The Roman Catholics believe that all those who died and are at peace with the Roman Catholic Church must undergo penal and purifying sufferings. This is the doctrine of Purgatory. They further postulate that the relatives of the dead can offer gifts to the Church on behalf of their dead in order to shorten his stay in purgatory, Heb 9:27
Limbo: The Roman Catholics also believe that all unbaptized children and mentally derailed go to a permanent place of natural happiness when they die. This is not correct, Rom 3:23
Reincarnation: this is a belief in rebirth of the souls after death. It states that whatever a man sows in this present life, he will reap in the next life. Thus, whoever is having an unpleasant life at present must have been a repercussion of his evil deeds in his previous life. This is incorrect, Heb 9:27
