A7.2 – WHAT SANCTIFICATION IS
- Sanctification is the process of being set apart for the use of God, Jere 1:5
- Sanctification is the deliverance from inward and outward sinful defilement whereby the believer begins to enjoy living holy life, Genesis 17:1
- Sanctification is the separation from sin and separation unto God and, Leviticus 11:45
- Sanctification is the deliverance from ‘self.’ Self is the continuous desire to have and follow one’s way and one’s own rights. Matt 5:38-39
- Sanctification is the making holy what was before defiled and sinful. It is a work of divine grace upon the soul that has been justified by the love of Christ, 1Peter 1:13-16
- Sanctification is the gradual, continuous and progressive mortification of the body of sin
1Thessalonians 4:3-5
- Sanctification ensures the believer is gradually cleansed from the corruption of human nature, and is at length presented perfect. 2Thes. 2:13
