1. Conversion or regeneration means to receive Christ. This is an act of obedience by which you submit to the work of Jesus Christ and become a new person 2 Corinthians 5:17
2. Every true born-again Christian has the Holy Spirit, Rom 8:9
3. The Holy Spirit is given by God “to those who obey Him” Acts 5:32
4. The Holy Spirit enters the human spirit at the point of being born again, John 1:12-13
5. As the new believer grows in Christ he begins to produce the fruit of the Spirit, Gal 5:22-23
6. At the point of new birth, the new believer gets authority (Greek word: exousia) to be a son or daughter of God, John 1:12
7. But the new believer has to be endued with the power of the Holy Spirit (Greek word: dunamis) so that he can be effective in the service of the Lord, Acts 1:8
8. The practical act of speaking in tongues, as it was in the early Church, is still the sign of being baptized in the Holy Spirit. Speaking in unknown tongues is a Biblical sign of the true New Testament baptism in the Holy Spirit, Acts 2:4
9. As Apostle Paul laid hands on some believers, they received the Holy Spirit and they spoke in tongues, Acts 19:6
10. Jesus Christ promised speaking in tongues as a sign to follow the believers, Mark 16:17-18
11. The Bible enjoins all believers to desire the gift of prophecy and never forbid speaking in tongues, 1Corinthians 14:39
